About the AMC

  • Nepean Capital is an Engagement Fund that invests in listed Mid & Small Cap companies in India that have identifiable triggers over the next 12-48 months. Its structured as an Alternative Investment Fund (AIF) Category III headquartered in Mumbai and registered with the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI). 

It has a Private Equity approach to Public Market investing. The firm leverages the team’s knowledge coupled with their financial industry experience to mentor and guide Mid & Small Cap companies.

  • Founders – Its founders are Gautam Trivedi and Anand Trivedi who have between themselves over 50 years of experience in the Indian and Asian financial markets. They have worked with some of the leading investment banks and fund management firms in India and Asia. 

  Gautam Trivedi – Mr. Gautam is an MBA graduate from the University of Southern California, before which he pursued L.L.B from the Government Law College, Mumbai and B.Com from the Sydenham College, Mumbai. His past work experience is, Institutional Equity Sales at CLSA, Executive Director at Jardine Fleming Asia, Vice President at Reliance Industries Limited, MD at Goldman Sachs & CEO at Religare Capital Markets after which he co-founded Nepean Capital.

   Anand Trivedi – Mr. Anand is an MBA in Finance graduate from the Columbia Business School. Having pursued L.L.B and B.Com from the same colleges as Mr. Gautam Trivedi. He started out as a Fund Manager at Nicholas Applegate and went on to be the Head of Private Equity at GE Capital after gaining experience at several firms. He is now the Co-Founder and Managing Partner at Nepean Capital.

Investment Philosophy (for firm)

Nepean Capital has a Private Equity approach to Public Market investing. Companies are selected based on identifiable triggers such as restructuring of their balance sheets, demergers, generational changes in management, to name a few. In addition, they also look at a number of qualitative and quantitative metrics to determine their suitability for investment. Providing intelligent and patient capital is the foundation of our investment philosophy. They believe in partnering with investee companies by providing strategic and financial guidance to help them realize their full growth potential.
