Internship
internship
Since ChatGPT can summarise information much more importantly, we need to re-think how to research - and learn to research - investment management. Hence, we are currently not taking any interns.
The information here is for when we do. And for any employers to verify what a previous intern did with us.

What the role is
The virtual internship is for one to three months.
We will connect regularly online to learn about practical applications of topics you may have learnt in your degree courses. You then work for 2-4 days on your own, or in small groups with your peers. You then present your work on the call and peer review others' work.
The practical work includes -
- Do primary research by checking websites of investment firms and collating relevant information in a dossier format; you will learn what is relevant information and how to present it in summary form
- Summarise media interviews with investment professionals, including key take-aways on investment philosophy/style, process, competitive advantages, risk management etc; even if you end up using AI tools such as Descript or ChatGPT, you will need to understand and present
- Synthesize detailed industry reports by consulting firms on various asset classes and segments
- Prepare interview research notes to help MMI prepare for interviews
Who you are
The internship is open to mostly freshers and anyone else who is genuinely interested in investments.
You are likely to have finished graduation in a finance-related degree such as BCom or BA (Economics). You may have enrolled for a professional course such as Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA), Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst (CAIA), or a Master's degree in applied finance and/or investments.
You are curious about investing which is shown by the fact that you have read some books on investing outside of any curriculum.
You are a good communicator, especially written. Perhaps you have a blog. Maybe you have experimented making audio-visual content.
You need to be punctual, self-starter and disciplined. You will need a laptop, good wi-fi and access to Google Drive.
