In parallel to helping the industry access R&D assets via technology transfer and sponsored projects, CSIR-Tech also actively creates and builds new ventures ('spin-offs') that seek to commercialize lab R&D. To leverage this unique and high-quality deal flow, CSIR-Tech is raising an early stage, domestic venture fund. With a target corpus of INR 50 crore, the fund - India Science Venture Fund ('ISVF') - has received approval from SEBI for registration as a Category I Alternative Investment Fund. CSIR-Tech is the Sponsor as well as the Investment Manager for this fund.Potential investors include domestic financial institutions, Indian corporates, venturing arms of MNCs, global development institutions and eminent individuals who have made, and desire to make, an impact on Indian economy through science & technology.
