Sykes & Ray Equities promoted passionately by its Chairman – Mr. Yogesh R Gupta and Managing Director – Mr. Anup R Gupta, has evolved over a period of time. Its emergence has happened principally due to the inspiring and dynamic leadership of our core management team.

Since 1990 SRE has undergone a metamorphosis from being a traditional proprietary concern to a professionally managed company, hiring and retaining meticulous and experienced personnel. Our group has matured from a handful of dedicated employees in the early 90s to over 200 to date.

Moreover, SRE is one of the foremost retail stock broking service entities on the country’s two major exchanges. It has a strong presence in over 140 locations across India through a network of business associates and branches. The company has also endeavored to reach out to Indians across the globe by setting up an independent NRI DESK.

Mr. Yogesh Gupta is the founder and director of Sykes & Ray Equities (I) Ltd. He has obtained his Masters’s Degree in Economics and is also a Certified Financial planner With more than two decades of experience in the Financial Services Industry, Mr. Gupta has been passionate about conceptualizing and offering financial services to the Indian Masses.

Anup Gupta

Managing Director

Mr. Anup Gupta is the Managing Director of Sykes and Ray Equities (I) Ltd (SRE). He has served on various committees of the BSE and is currently a member of the Executive Committees of BSE Brokers Forum, ANMI, and a member of the Capital Markets Committee of Indian Merchants Chambers. He has also been instrumental in the expansion of SRE to establish a strong foothold in the market.

The SRE PE Shield Strategy

The SRE PE Shield Strategy, managed by Mr. Nitesh Chand, is a growth-oriented investment strategy that aims to achieve capital appreciation through investments in Indian companies with growth potential. The strategy predominantly invests in listed equities, ETFs, and mutual funds, and is based on a combination of top-down and bottom-up approaches.

The top-down approach is used to identify key macroeconomic and sectoral themes that are likely to drive growth in the Indian economy, and subsequently help identify stocks that will benefit from the same. The bottom-up approach, on the other hand, focuses on the analysis of individual stocks and their growth potential, regardless of macroeconomic cycles.

The portfolio of the SRE PE Shield Strategy comprises 30-40 equally weighted stocks, which are selected based on ranks, and is rebalanced periodically. The strategy seeks to invest in equity and equity-related instruments in large-cap, mid-cap, and small-cap companies.

The Quantitative Growth Strategy

The Quantitative Growth Strategy, managed by Mr. Nitesh Chand, aims to create wealth for investors by following a systematic investing approach that buys high-quality businesses with a long-term investment horizon and low portfolio churn. The strategy predominantly invests in listed equities, ETFs, and mutual funds.

The basis of the selection of securities for the Quantitative Growth Strategy is a quantitative, objective, and unbiased stock-picking approach based on strong business fundamentals. A portfolio of 30 equally weighted stocks is constructed based on ranks and is rebalanced periodically. The strategy avoids companies below a market capitalization of Rs. 500 crores due to low liquidity.

The portfolio of the Quantitative Growth Strategy seeks to invest in equity and equity-related instruments of companies diversified across small to midcap companies. The strategy does not consider financial and real estate companies for investment.

The Ignited Ideas Strategy

The Ignited Ideas Strategy, managed by Mr. Nitesh Chand, aims to create wealth for investors over the long term by generating optimal returns in the context of market volatility. The strategy predominantly invests in listed equities, ETFs, and units of mutual funds.

The basis of selection of securities for the Ignited Ideas Strategy is to invest in large-cap companies where value is found, and mid-cap and small-cap companies where growth is foreseen. The strategy is sector agnostic and focuses on businesses that operate in the B2C, B2B, and B2G (Business with Government) segments. The strategy has a minimal churn approach, and the portfolio is rebalanced periodically.

The portfolio of the Ignited Ideas Strategy seeks to invest in a mix of mid and large-cap companies, making it a Flexi-cap portfolio. This approach enables the strategy to take advantage of growth opportunities in mid-cap companies and stability in large-cap companies.
